Purpose

Spirituality-Informed

Our therapists are trained in spirituality-informed therapy, which integrates spiritual and religious beliefs into the therapeutic process. They believe that spirituality can be a powerful source of strength and support for people struggling with mental health challenges.

Spirituality-informed therapy can be beneficial for people in a number of ways. It can help people to:

Make sense of their experiences: Spirituality can provide a framework for understanding difficult experiences, such as trauma or loss.

Find meaning and purpose: Spirituality can help people to find meaning and purpose in their lives, even in the midst of challenges.

Develop coping skills: Spirituality can provide people with coping skills for dealing with stress, anxiety, and depression.

Build a support system: Spirituality can connect people with a community of like-minded individuals who can provide support and encouragement.

Therapists will ask you about your spiritual beliefs and practices. This can help therapists to understand your worldview and how your spirituality can be a source of strength and support.

Therapists can use spiritual interventions, such as prayer, meditation, or journaling. These interventions can help clients to connect with their spirituality and to find peace and healing.

Therapists can refer clients to spiritual leaders or resources. This can help clients to find additional support and guidance from their faith community.

The fee to meet with one of the therapists on our team for individual therapy is $180 for a 50 minute session. $200 for first initial intake for 60 mins. We currently are accepting the following insurances:

Blue Cross Blue Shield (in state and out of state)

Blue Care Network

 Blue Care Complete Medicaid

 Priority

Paramount

Aetna

Clients are responsible for payment of all fees. We will be happy to submit a claim to your insurance company or provide you with a receipt for submitting your insurance claim. However, clients are ultimately responsible for payment of their bill.

We are willing to work with you regarding your bill if you have trouble paying your portion. However, if you fail to communicate with us or do not follow through on making some sort of payment plan, we do reserve the right to turn your account in to collections. We do not like doing this at all and will avoid it if at all possible.

We customize therapy to each individual client, and therefore can’t predict how many sessions it will take for each client to reach their goals. We have worked with some clients that come in with one specific issue they want to address, and when these clients are ready and able to complete homework assignments each week, they tend to move through therapy relatively quickly. In other cases, clients may have more complex challenges and/or busy lives, and setting aside even 50 minutes a week to come to therapy is a feat for them. For these clients, therapy may take a longer time. We will work with you at your pace, and our hope is to help you reach your goals and to reap the benefits of therapy as quickly as possible.

In order to provide effective therapy, we ask our clients to attend sessions weekly at the start of therapy. Once they have made progress and have met their goals, we will reduce the frequency of sessions in preparation for wrapping up therapy, at which point, we will invite clients to return if they ever need additional support or a “tune-up.”

Yes! All of our therapists are LGBTQ+ affirming.

Unfortunately, we are not able to accommodate requests for a letter for an emotional support animal unless we have been working with a client for a substantial period of time. This allows us to determine if an emotional support animal is appropriate for each client.

We do! Therapy services will be billed to you or your insurance. Any additional paperwork that is needed or requested from the court will be a separate fee paid by the patient. Any court appearances will incur a $150 per hour fee that needs to be paid prior to court proceedings and is not billable to insurances.

We offer patients who do not have insurance a sliding scale fee of $100 for initial intake session and $75 each additional session for children and adults. Fee must be paid prior to therapy session taking place.

Yes, your therapist will work with you and your school-age child to determine how to best involve you in their treatment.

Not at this time however we hope to in the near future.

Yes! We offer video online counseling sessions. We have found that video sessions can be not just incredibly effective, but also convenient, especially for those with tight schedules, or who travel for work. For video sessions, we use an app that is both encrypted and HIPAA compliant for utmost confidentiality. Please check with your insurance company to insure they cover telehealth.

Scheduling / Cancellations

Once a recurring appointment has been set, plan to meet at that time unless you or your therapist alerts the other of a need to cancel or reschedule.

Cancellations happen from time to time (e.g., sickness, vacation, personal emergency), but in general you are agreeing to attend every scheduled session.

You will be responsible for a cancellation fee of $75  if you cancel your session with less than 24-hours notice and it is not possible to find an alternative time to meet that same week. Please be aware that insurance companies will not reimburse you for missed session fees.

If you miss two consecutive sessions without being in contact, unless other arrangements have been made in advance, your therapist will assume that you’ve decided to end treatment and close your case.

Please be aware that because of different state’s licensing requirements, our therapists can only provide therapy to clients physically located in Michigan at the time of session.

Your therapist will do their best to respond to your phone, text, or emails by the following business day.

We do our utmost to protect your privacy, but cannot ensure the confidentiality of any form of communication through electronic media, including text messages. Please tell your therapist directly if you would prefer not to communicate through electronic media. Email and text messaging are only used for practical matters, such as scheduling. All clinical issues should exclusively be discussed in session or by phone if necessary.
